Brickability Group PLC (LON:BRCK) said it has bought McCann Limited, a logistics firm that specialises in transporting building materials from factories in Europe to construction sites in the UK.
The £1.75mln deal helps secure supply lines and reduce the risk of “Brexit-related delays to logistics and haulage” after January 1, said chief executive Alan Simpson.
Brickability, a supplier of construction materials, paid £1.25mln upfront with the remainder being paid in three annual tranches.
McCann operates a fleet of over 100 trailers, tautliners and flatbeds and is headquartered in Immingham, Lincolnshire.
Arnold Van Huet, managing director of Crest Group and member of the Brickability management board, will assume responsibility for McCann.
The deal comes less than a week after the acquisition of Bathroom Barn, a supplier of radiator valves for £645,000.
