Boohoo Group PLC (LON:BOO), easyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) and Marston’s PLC (LON:MARS) are some of the stocks most likely to double in price once the economy recovers, according to Peel Hunt.
Struggling newsagents WH Smith PLC (LON:WHSM) and cash-strapped cinema operator Cineworld PLC (LON:CINE) are also on the list, along with retailer Halfords PLC (LON:HFD) that has done very well in 2020.
There were small cap picks in a variety of sectors, including Gulf Keystone Petroleum (LON:GKP) and SDX Energy Inc (LON:SDX), Sensyne Health (LON:SENS) and Tharisa PLC (LON:THS).
The projection is underpinned on a vaccine rollout in the spring and restrictions on movement ending in the summer.
UK mid & small caps have rallied substantially over the last month, the broker noted, but many have either been left behind or only partially recovered.
“Clearly the economy will take time to recover and there will be permanent shifts in its shape,” analysts said.
“However, we see these firms as still providing good value in this scenario, and many will be in a stronger position, either through a change in the competitive environment or through self-help.”
