OptiBiotix Health PLC (LON:OPTI) said its subsidiary has granted a licence for the US and Canada for its LPLDL next-generation probiotic.
Genuine Health Inc will develop a product that it will submit for sign-off from Health Canada for cardiovascular and other claims.
“We see this as another step in building revenues and market presence of LPLDL inside a wide range of products, presented in different presentations and formulations, for cardiovascular health in both consumer and pharmaceutical markets around the world," said Mikkel Hvid-Hansen, commercial director of OptiBiotix’s ProBiotix Health arm.
Genuine Health has been formulating natural products for more than 25 years and is also responsible for top-selling greens+, which according to the website, is the only superfood to be validated by nine clinical studies.
OptiBiotix and its offshoots are developing compounds to tackle obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes and skincare that target the human microbiome, an ecosystem of bacteria that exists in the gut and on the skin.
