Cornish Lithium appoints chief financial officer

Cornish Lithium is at the forefront of developing Britain's lithium industry

Cornish Lithium Ltd has appointed Varshan Gokool as its chief financial officer.

Gokool will join the Cornish Lithium executive team to assist in the development of lithium projects in Cornwall in an economically and financially robust framework.

He has over 22 years of experience in guiding publicly listed mining companies from project definition through to development and construction. Gokool was most recently president and CEO of Euromax Resources Ltd.

Prior to Euromax, Gokool led and implemented the financing strategy of European Goldfields Limited, a mining company headquartered in London but listed on the Toronto stock exchange with copper, gold, lead and zinc mines in Greece and Romania.

“We are delighted to welcome Varshan to the executive team at Cornish Lithium and I believe that he can bring significant financial acumen, financial strategy & optimisation and governance to the company,” said Cornish Lithium chief executive Jeremy Wrathall in a statement.

“We look forward to capturing Varshan’s wealth of financial and mining experience in order to assist Cornish Lithium in the next stage of its journey towards commercial production and the creation of a battery materials hub for UK industry.”
