The John Lewis Partnership -

Checkit PLC (LON:CKT) is to provide the John Lewis Partnership with connected workflow, asset monitoring and building management solutions for a period of three years.

The agreement, which started in August and runs for three years, covers all John Lewis department stores and Waitrose outlets.

Key to the programme said Checkit is the use of its CWM platform, which automates manual processes, replaces paper and documents with digital process tools and can be used to analyse performance and identify training needs

In a statement, Keith Daley, Checkit’s executive chair said: “Checkit UK Limited has worked with the John Lewis Partnership since 1993 and we are delighted to be continuing and developing that relationship going forward, with digital innovation at the heart of our new agreement."

Last week, John Lewis unveiled a plan to make 60%-70% of sales online in the next five years, compared to around 40% before the coronavirus pandemic hit.

The ‘click and collect’ service is being expanded and the partnership is also developing collaborations with online furniture rental business Fat Llama and with Deliveroo for Waitrose products.

Around £100mln will be invested in the retail credit card business to grow it four-fold by offering new products and services like savings and insurance.

Looking at the store estate, 20 shops will be turned into housing, with the aim of providing the group a continuous income from rents.
