The week ahead

essensys PLC (LON: ESYS), which provides software-as-a-service solutions to the flexible workspace industry, reports its annual results on Tuesday. essensys sells its software to real estate companies that provide the software to their flexible workspace tenants, for use from everything from access control to operating printers, booking meeting rooms and monitoring WiFi usage. In its year-end trading statement, essensys said that full-year revenue grew by 9% to £20.6mln while recurring revenue increased by 18% to £19.3mln. This compares to 19% revenue growth and 29% recurring revenue growth at the half-year stage, which ended January before the pandemic. This implies that recurring revenues increased by about 9% in the second half (before considering exchange rate movements), while total revenues were broadly flat. The focus will be on the outlook in light of the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic. In the recent IWG interims, IWG, which provides flexible workspace, said that in the post-COVID-19 world there will be a greater requirement for more flexible space.

Netcall PLC (LON: NET), the customer experience software specialist, reports its final results on Tuesday. In its year-end trading update, it said it anticipated full-year revenue to have grown by 10% to £25.1mln with adjusted underlying earnings (EBITDA) rising by about 29% to £4.4mln, in line with market expectations. Cloud annual contract value (ACV) increased by 25% to £7.5mln contributing to a 7% growth in total ACV to £16.8mln. The group’s normalised net cash position at end June was £3.8mln, after adjusting for £2.2mln of deferred VAT payments. As the business helps drive digital transformation, we will be accessing how much tailwind it has received from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fonix Mobile PLC (LON: FNX) is joining the AIM market today, following a £45mln placement of existing shares, which capitalises the business at £90mln at the 90p placement price. Across the pond, in a quiet week for tech results, Atlassian Corporation PLC (NASDAQ: TEAM) is expected to report first-quarter earnings. The Australian software-as-a-service company is trading at record highs, capitalised at nearly US$50bn, and is expected to report strong growth in revenue.
