Kingston Resources mourns passing of PNG exploration project manager Chris Yobone

"Charles’s work reflected his honest character, always acting with the utmost integrity and engaging with others in a positive, understanding manner," Kingston stated.

Kingston Resources Ltd (ASX:KSN) is mourning the passing on Thursday, September 17, of Charles Yobone, the company's Gallipoli exploration project manager and a widely respected man across all levels of Papua New Guinea society.

The company has extended deepest sympathies to the extended family of a man described as "an exceptional individual".

Hailing from Enga province originally, Yobone graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea with a Bachelor of Science (Geology Major) and went on to have a successful career as a geologist working on a number of nationally significant mining projects.

He was also a leading member of the Misima Island community.

Work reflected honest character

Since 2017, Yobone was the Gallipoli exploration project manager for Kingston and prior to that with WCB Resources Limited for four years.

In a statement Kingston said: "His work reflected his honest character, always acting with the utmost integrity and engaging with others in a positive, understanding manner."

Integral part of Kingston success

Yobone was an integral part of Kingston’s success in recent years in advancing the Misima Gold Project.

"The company will continue on with the Misima Gold Project, but Charles will always be a central figure in the legacy of the project.

"He will be fondly and well-remembered by all at Kingston," the company said.
