British Land's finance head to replace departing chief executive

Carter, who will earn £750,000 a year, has been the FTSE100 group’s Chief Financial Officer since May 2018

British Land PLC’s (LON:BLND) chief executive of eleven years Chris Grigg is to step down in November with finance head Simon Carter moving up into the role.

Carter, who will earn a basic salary of £750,000 a year, has been the FTSE100 group’s Chief Financial Officer since May 2018, having already worked at the property giant for a decade before stints at Logicor and Quintain Estates.

Tim Score, chairman, praised Grigg’s leadership and highlighted developments at Broadgate, Paddington and Regents Place where he said British Land had delivered several iconic London buildings with Canada Water to come.
