Moho Resources set for diamond drilling program at East Sampson Dam gold prospect

The diamond drilling program is mainly aimed at providing further structural, geotechnical and metallurgical definition.

Moho Resources Ltd (ASX:MOH) has secured a diamond rig as it prepares to drill the highly prospective East Sampson Dam gold prospect on Silver Swan North Project in Western Australia.

The company intends to drill six diamond holes for around 600 metres as a part of the next stage of resource infill drilling and this is scheduled to begin in the week starting September 21, 2020.

It has also secured a transportable accommodation unit and office caravan to establish an exploration camp at the Silver Swan North project to facilitate resource development work.

Next phase of work

Moho managing director Shane Sadleir said: “Moho is pleased to advance to the next phase of drilling at East Sampson Dam in this challenging COVID environment.”

Moho’s drilling aims to maximise the geological, structural, geotechnical and metallurgical information that can be obtained from the whole rock drill core of the East Sampson Dam mineralisation.

This information is considered critical as it will provide a solid foundation for underpinning and advancing the resource studies.

Sampling work

Moho has also engaged a geochemical sampling contractor to conduct infill surface sampling at the Silver Swan North Project to infill historical work undertaken in 2004.

A total of 2126 samples were collected from around 30 centimetres below surface and were submitted to Bureau Veritas, Perth, for gold and about 500 multi-element analyses over areas considered to be prospective for nickel.

Sadleir said: “The company is encouraged by recent excellent metallurgy and structural understanding from our Phase 1 program continuing to highlight the significant gold production potential of Moho’s East Sampson Dam prospect.”

Reverse circulation program

In a second reverse circulation (RC) phase, the company is planning to drill 40 holes for a total of 4,000 metres during the remainder of 2020.

It will also review new surface geochemistry data before undertaking aircore drilling at auger gold anomalies and geophysical targets within the project in the fourth quarter of 2020.

A CSA review of downhole logging and DDH data to improve understanding of structural controls on gold mineralisation is also planned for the fourth quarter of 2020.
