Filta Group Holdings PLC (LON:FLTA) shares jumped higher on Friday after the firm revealed it has secured exclusive rights to a new broad-spectrum disinfectant which will help in the fight against the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) as it can be deployed without the need to evacuate a room or require extensive use of personal protective equipment.
This makes it an ideal option for customers in a wide range of sectors from office blocks and schools through to commercial kitchens and restaurants, the company added.
The group has been given access to hypochlorous acid-based product by NTH Solutions, the support services arm of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust.
Filta’s staff will be fully trained to use the product under the terms of the deal, which runs for an initial six months, investors were told.
The company, a specialist in fryer management for the hospitality sector, is supporting the back to work effort with its FiltaShield sanitation service for which it has received an “encouraging level of enquiries and initial orders”.
“This partnership with NTH Solutions will further enhance our capabilities and sits with our overall group strategy to expand our core service offering and increase the opportunity to cross-sell our portfolio of solutions to current and future customers,” Filta chief executive Jason Sayers said in a statement.
“We are looking forward to working with our new partners and updating on our progress in due course," he added.
In early morning trade on Friday, Filta shares were over 21.5% higher at 110p.
