AO World PLC (LON:AO.), the online electricals goods retailer, said sales have taken off as the improved trading momentum, noted in July, following the coronavirus pandemic lockdown has continued.
UK revenues in the four months to July 31, 2020, jumped by 58.9% to £401.3mln year-on-year, the FTSE 250-listed group said in a trading update and were up by 91.5% to €74.3mln in Germany.
AO noted that the fact demand has remained strong even with the reopening of competitor stores reaffirmed its belief that a structural shift in the way people shop for electrical goods is underway
The group will invest more to increase its capacity and capability to meet the demand, it added.
