Falcon Gold Corp (CVE:FG) has identified gold, copper and silver targets at its Spitfire-Sunny Boy project in British Columbia, the company said on Wednesday.
The exploration group said that results from a sampling program on the property point to three target areas of highly prospective low-sulphidation epithermal gold mineralization and potential feeder zones, with additional copper and silver targets discovered of up to 0.6% copper and 10 to 13 grams per ton (g/t) silver.
The news follows recent gold assay results, released earlier this month, that revealed 59.8 g/t gold over 2.2 metres, including a one-metre interval assaying 122 g/t.

Spitfire-Sunny Boy is one of four projects held by Vancouver-based Falcon Gold, a mineral explorer focused on generating, acquiring, and developing opportunities in the Americas. Located near the town of Merritt, the first recorded discoveries were made on the Spitfire-Sunny Boy claims in 1908. Due diligence conducted by Falcon Gold in 2019 confirmed the presence of gold mineralization along the Master Vein over a 300-metre strike length, with samples ranging from 0.3 to 2.7 ounces per ton gold.

Falcon CEO Karim Rayani told shareholders the company is “greatly excited” to see the project grow from an underexplored volcanic terrain into a potential large scale precious and base metal bearing discovery.
“We believe the types and high grades of the Spitfire-Sunny Boy zones conform to a low sulphidation epithermal deposit model that could host world-class mining intercepts,” Rayani said in a statement.
“We are taking the necessary steps to completely understand the area and our geological team has been working diligently to fully understand the discovery and provide reliable targets for drilling this year."
The firm said it will also conduct ground and airborne geophysical surveys to determine the scale of alteration and to develop potential drill targets for follow up work next month.
