Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI) has received further highly encouraging results from drilling at the Bankan Project in Guinea, West Africa, which reveal strong and wide gold zones.
The company has received assay results from 21 reverse circulation (RC) holes and one diamond hole at Bankan Creek and NE Bankan prospects within the project, which was formerly known as Kaninko.
Deep extension
A diamond hole was completed at Bankan Creek, 3 kilometres west of the main NE Bankan prospect, and this extended gold mineralisation deep into fresh rock.
Results include 21 metres at 1 g/t from 41 metres; 23 metres at 2 g/t from 86 metres; and 23 metres at 2.4 g/t from 116 metres.
RC drilling at NE Bankan intersected further zones of mineralisation from step-out drilling along strike and at depth.
Notable intersections include:
- 26 metres at 21.9 g/t from 58 metres, including 6 metres at 68 g/t from 58 metres, 2 metres at 8.6 g/t from 72 metres, and 6 metres at 17.3 g/t from 78 metres in hole KKORC016;
- 73 metres at 3.2 g/t from 9 metres, including 5 metres at 8.5 g/t from 80 metres;
- 4 metres at 3.4 g/t from 60 metres;
- 28 metres at 1.3 g/t from 2 metres;
- 16 metres at 1.9 g/t from 80 metres including 3 metres at 7.2 g/t from 37 metres;
- 89 metres at 1 g/t from 7 metres including 1-metre at 18.6 g/t;
- 5 metres at 4.9 g/t from 56 metres including 1-metre at 10.9 g/t; and
- 8 metres at 2.9 g/t from 59 metres including, 1-metre at 20.0 g/t.
A re-assay of a previous sample in hole KKORC016 that returned in excess of 100 g/t obtained 208.5 g/t.
“Potential to add to resource estimate”
Predictive managing director Paul Roberts said: “The company is very pleased that deeper drilling at Bankan Creek has now returned strong gold results from fresh rock.
“The recognition of hard rock gold mineralisation at depth just 3 kilometres away from the NE Bankan discovery brings significant potential to add more gold ounces to the planned 2021 mineral resource estimate.
“With these new RC results, the company’s confidence that it has uncovered a large system of gold mineralised bodies within the Bankan Project continues to grow.”
Bankan Project locality plan with current DD results from Bankan Creek and RC Drilling from NE Bankan.
Next steps
RC drilling is ongoing with the focus now turning to testing the northern 400 metres of a 0.25 g/t gold power auger anomaly.
Diamond drilling is progressively testing the gold mineralised zone outlined by the aircore and RC drilling from west to east, more or less at right angles to the inferred dip direction.
Roberts said drilling was intersecting broad widths and the growth of the gold mineralised footprint through auger drilling had provided additional scope for follow-up drilling at depth.
He said: “We are continually updating our geological model of the Bankan mineralised bodies while also improving our understanding of potential controls on the gold mineralisation.
“We also look forward to auger drilling results from south and north of the NE Bankan zone, with the potential to grow the plus-0.25 g/t gold auger footprint along strike and thereby provide new targets for further gold discovery.
“RC drilling will also be extended north into the Saman permit, with new drill holes to test the previously reported encouraging auger results at depth.“
The current intention is to suspend RC and DD drilling in early September in order to receive all of the drill results in the following weeks and plan the next phase of drilling
