Vast Resources PLC (LON:VAST) has told investors that the latest findings at the Baita Plai project, in Romania, confirm confidence in the quality of the mining asset.
In an update on metallurgical test work undertaken on Baita Plai materials, the group highlighted the findings of a final draft report from consultant Grinding Solutions.
It shows copper recoveries ranging between 88.2% and 93.8%, into copper concentrate. Gold recovery into the concentrate meanwhile measured between 72.7% and 78.2%, silver saw from 69.3% to 83.0%.

At the same time, the report displayed a zinc recovery of 51.1% into a zinc concentrate with gold and silver credits, and, a molybedenum recovery of 65.3% into a molybdenum concentrate with gold and silver credits.
The test work was undertaken on three samples - high-grade copper mineralisation, a polymetallic copper-lead-zinc mineralisation, and a copper-molybdenum ore.
“Results from Grinding Solutions test work confirm the company’s confidence in the quality of the Baita Plai asset and our decision to focus all our attention in bringing Baita Plai into production,” Andrew Prelea, Vast's chief executive said in a statement.
“The opportunity to further develop the mine and continue exploration at Baita Plai in order to increase the resource and extend the life of mine is a continuing priority for the company. These test results underpin both the near term and the future profitability of the company,” he added.
