Tempus Resources Ltd (ASX:TMR) has started a diamond drilling program of around 8,500 metres at the Blackdome-Elizabeth Gold Project, in British Columbia, Canada.
The program is underway at Blackdome where it is planned to drill about 2,500 metres focused on verifying and expanding upon the existing high-grade historical NI43-101 mineral resource.
This Blackdome program will also include drilling over significant gold in soil anomalies to the northeast of the current mineralised envelope.
Aim to extend mineralisation
Managing director Brendan Borg said: “We aim to drill approximately 8,500 metres in this program to verify and extend the existing high-grade gold mineralisation at Blackdome and Elizabeth.
“We will also test the significant gold in soil anomalies identified in the geochemical sampling program that have outstanding potential to expand the scale of the known mineralisation.”
Elizabeth program
Following Blackdome, around 6,000 metres will be drilled at Elizabeth, again focused on verifying and expanding upon the existing high-grade historical NI43-101 mineral resource but also targeting extensions to mineralisation along strike, supported by gold in soil anomalies, as well as at depth.
The company will provide further updates as the program progresses over the coming months.
Tempus is focused on rapidly verifying and expanding the historical high-grade mineral resource at the Blackdome-Elizabeth project by drilling extensions to existing mineralisation and other high priority targets within the 350 square kilometre licence area, which remains relatively unexplored.
It also intends to leverage the existing permitted mill, tailings dam and other infrastructure at Blackdome with the aim of re-commencing production as the project proceeds.
