Trainline appoints former eBay exec to new COO position

Jody Ford will join the train ticketing group from his former position as CEO of personalisation firm Photobox

Trainline PLC (LON:TRN) said its has appointed Jody Ford, the former chief executive of photo printing and gift personalisation site Photobox and an ex-eBay executive, to its newly created position of chief operating officer.

The rail ticket website said Ford will take up the role from September 21 and will be central to driving its growth strategy and performance as well as running its commercial, marketing, product and tech functions.

"I am delighted to welcome Jody to Trainline and look forward to him helping us deliver our long-term growth plan. We are proud to attract such talent to our senior management team which continues to be focused on championing more environmentally sustainable travel choices", said chief executive Clare Gilmartin.

I look forward to working with the board and Trainline's team to continue innovating for the benefit of our customers", Ford added.

Trainline shares rose 4.4% to 416.8p in early deals on Tuesday.
