GR Silver Mining Ltd (CVE:GRSL) (OTCQB:GRSLF) has reported new high-grade drill results from its Plomosas silver project that extend the silver mineralized system by at least 500 metres along strike.
One interval reported returned results of 1,112 grams per ton (g/t) silver equivalent ounces (comprised of 1,096 g/t silver, 0.3% lead and 0.2% zinc) over 5.4 metres, including 2,498 g/t silver equivalent (comprised of 2,484 g/t silver, 0.7% lead and 0.3% zinc) over two metres.
In addition to extending the mineralized system at the Plomosas Mine Area, the results confirmed the prospectivity of near-surface, multiple veins and hydrothermal breccia systems close to existing underground development.

The insight will facilitate access for GR’s upcoming drill program, the company said in a statement, adding that the drill holes also indicate the discovery of numerous subparallel mineralized systems below the current footwall of previously mined areas.
The results illustrate the potential to expand silver-gold mineralization along strike and down-dip, which would create a much larger mineralized footprint for future resource estimation, according to GR Silver’s CEO Marcio Fonseca.
“The mineralized veins and hydrothermal breccias at the Plomosas Mine Area were originally interpreted to be confined only along the major Plomosas Fault, however, our recent validation and integration of all drill results, underground structural mapping and sampling, supports the occurrence of additional mineralized veins outside of that major structure,” Fonseca told shareholders in the statement.
GR Silver previously reported results from Plomosa that highlighted the thickness of mineralization and average grade, including 11 metres at 1,235 g/t silver and 5.4 metres at 1,096 g/t silver including 2 metres at 2,484 g/t silver.
“The recent progress of the surface and underground exploration program suggests that these high-grade veins extend and are open down plunge,” Fonseca added. “With further success, we anticipate that the high-grade multi-vein mineralization in the Plomosas Mine Area will add additional mineralized zones for future resource delineation.”
GR Silver is currently in the midst of a 4,500-metre drill program at Plomosas, which is located within the Rosario Mining District in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico.
