Galileo Mining begins extensive MLEM survey program at Fraser Range Nickel Project

The new MLEM surveys will cover an area of 46 square kilometres, more than two times larger than the current exploration footprint.

Galileo Mining Ltd (ASX:GAL) has begun an extensive program of Moving Loop Electro-Magnetic (MLEM) surveys at the Fraser Range Nickel Project in Western Australia.

The surveys are designed to take eight weeks and will cover prospective intrusions along strike from the Lantern area, which is the target of upcoming reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling programs.

“Aiming to identify new zones”

Managing director Brad Underwood said: “Our aircore drilling has shown the presence of prospective intrusions under shallow cover rocks along strike of the advanced Lantern drill targets.

“We know that nickel and copper sulphides occur at the Lantern South prospect and we will begin drilling again this month.

“At the same time, we are undertaking an extensive program of EM surveying aiming to identify new zones of mineralisation in an area that is displaying all the right signs of becoming a significant nickel exploration project.”

These new EM surveys will focus on zones both north and south of the Lantern prospects and are aimed at expanding the footprint of exploration.

A 2019 EM survey completed by the company will be more than doubled by the current survey, which will cover 46 square kilometres of highly prospective ground.

Galileo has joint ventures with the Creasy Group over tenements in the Fraser Range which are highly prospective for nickel-copper sulphide deposits similar to the operating Nova mine of IGO Ltd (ASX:IGO).
