Impact Healthcare confirms dividend after receiving all July rent in advance

The firm said six out of its 96 care homes had “a small number” of confirmed cases of COVID-19

Impact Healthcare REIT plc (LON:IHR) has confirmed it will pay a dividend for the three months to June 30, 2020, as all rent for July has been paid in advance.

The owner of healthcare real estate assets in the UK said six out of its 96 care homes had “a small number” of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The number of deaths caused by the virus in its homes peaked in late April, in line with the wider UK care home sector, but since then the death rate has returned to more normal levels, the group noted.

From early March, all its sites were closed to visitors and in many cases to new admissions, so in the 17 weeks to June 30, the number of occupied beds fell 8% to 3,873.

Occupancy is now stabilising and Impact installed thermal scanners to monitor infections, it added.
