Plus500 promotes interim boss to top job as half-year revenues soar

Revenue soared 74% as market volatility attracted high levels of customer trading

Plus500 Ltd (LON:PLUS) has promoted interim boss David Zruia to permanent chief executive.

Zruia has been at the online contracts for difference (CFDs) broker since 2010 and became chief operating officer in 2013, though he has been leading the company since April, when chief executive Asaf Elimelech resigned after four years in the role.

In the same announcement, the investing platform said revenue in the six months to June 30 soared 74% to US$564mln as market volatility attracted high levels of customer trading.

Analysts at Peel Hunt noted the positive update but said there was little clarity on the financial outlook.

Shares advanced 8% to 1,445.73p early on Tuesday.
