Sunrise Resources receives only minor comments on CS environmental assessment

The period for public comments closed on 22 June, with only three comments received, all from federal and state agency comments and all able to be addressed by minor edits

Sunrise Resources PLC (LON:SRES) said the only comments on the environmental assessment (EA) of its CS Perlite-Pozzolan Project in Nevada had been of a minor nature.

The period for public comments closed on 22 June, with only three comments received, all from federal and state agency comments and “will be addressed by minor edits to the EA”, the AIM-listed company said.

Patrick Cheetham, Sunrise’s executive chairman, said: “This is good news for the CS project and, we believe, reflects the limited impact of the project on the local environment, the mitigation measures we have proposed and the significant contribution that the use of natural pozzolan makes to a net reduction in carbon emissions.”

Once the three comments are addressed and an updated EA is submitted, Sunrise will then wait for the Bureau of Land Management to issue a decision record and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), which would be the final stage of the permitting process.
