Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI) is focused on accelerated exploration at its West African gold projects in Guinea and Cote d'Ivoire with seven drill rigs active.
At the 100%-owned Kaninko project in Guinea, first-pass diamond drilling is testing depth extensions to the previously intersected shallow mineralisation in drill holes KKOAC001 and KKOACC08.
Drilling to date has found that fresh rock consists mainly of intensely altered felsic to intermediate intrusive rocks containing minor iron sulphides with carbonate and lesser quartz veining.
Around 486 metres had been drilled up to June 7 in three holes, with drilling ongoing in the third hole.
Drill rigs at Kaninko
A reverse circulation (RC) drill rig is operating on a single shift along the northeast Bankan anomaly with the intention of moving to double shift shortly.
Power auger is also ongoing on the Kaninko permit with the rigs testing for possible northern extensions of the 1-kilometre long northeast Bankan gold mineralised footprint.
Submission of the first batch of samples from these drilling programs is expected in the next 4-5 days.
Drilling to test anomalies
At the Kankan project also in Guinea, 800 metres of RC drilling is in progress testing two gold-in-soil anomalies including a 1.4-kilometre-long plus 500ppb gold anomaly with peak values of 1 g/t and 0.7 g/t gold respectively.
The program consists of two widely separated traverses, one on each anomaly with 32 metre spaced holes to obtain complete coverage of the highest gold-in-soil values.
Fieldwork underway
Predictive’s Koundian project in Guinea has fieldwork underway with programs including a ground magnetic survey, regolith, geology mapping as well as surface geochemical sampling.
Koundian is along strike from Managem Group’s 2 million-ounce Tri-K gold deposits, with the southern permit boundary just 7 kilometres north of the Koulekoun deposit.
It also lies 15 kilometres west of the Mandiana gold deposits and 75 kilometres southeast of AngloGold’s (NYSE:AU) 10 million-ounce Siguiri gold deposit.
Predictive is excited to get into the field at Koundian with limited previous exploration across the 303 square kilometre property package returning high-grade gold drill intercepts including:
- 4 metres at 19.80 g/t from 50 metres;
- 2 metres at 7 g/t from 44 metres; and
- 14 metres at 1.69 g/t from 55 metres.
Cote D’Ivoire
The company’s Boundiali JV project consists of two permits, Boundiali North and Boundiali South, which cover 35 kilometres of strike length within a very well-mineralised greenstone belt.
Joint venture partner Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:RSG) has recommenced work with power auger and air core drilling programs focused on discovering extensions to the Nyangboue gold deposit.
The programs consist of 6,000 metres of aircore drilling north of Nyangboue and 3,000 metres of power auger drilling both to the north and south of Nyangboue.
Follow-up RC drilling is expected once results from the above programs are received and interpreted.
