Downing's Rosemary Banyard discusses vision for recently-launched Unique Opportunities Fund

Rosemary Banyard, formerly of Schroders, joined Downing Fund Managers a few months ago to head up its new 'Unique Opportunities Fund'.

She says it's focused on UK equities and companies with market capitalisations between £150mln - £10bn.

Banyard adds it's going to be quite a focused fund with 25-40 holdings.

''The objective is to give people capital growth and growth in income over at least five years and a key thing that we should be trying to achieve for people is to give them a long term return above inflation''.
