Character Group PLC (LON:CCT) has declared an interim dividend though it said it “cannot hope” to offset sales lost during the coronavirus lockdowns.
The toymaker will pay investors 2p per share, down from 13p last year, as it looks to hold onto its cash during the crisis.
The AIM-listed firm said international sales held up well and it is looking to resume operations fully in the coming weeks.
The second half of the year has scheduled launches of Gotta Go Flamingo from the Little Live Pets range and an environmentally friendly range of wooden Peppa Pig toys.
In the six months to 29 February, revenue slipped 12% to £51mln with profit before tax down 55% to £2mln.
Shares rose 2% to 250p on Thursday morning.
