SCS Group PLC (LON:SCS) reopened all its 80 stores in England on 23 May, it announced today.
The furniture retailer has also restarted its distribution network to allow home deliveries, though 19 stores in Scotland and Wales remain closed.
As of Monday, the sofa maker had £48mln in the bank, including £12mln drawn from a revolving credit facility.
The firm said it was too early to provide guidance though it is “well-positioned” to get through the crisis.
"We do not believe that all of the furniture and flooring stores trading stores in the UK prior to the Coronavirus crisis will re-open, something that in a broader context leads us to have concerns about the short-to-medium term prospects for the British consumer economy," analysts at house broker Shore Capital commented.
"Whilst this is so, ScS, with its excellent management, long-standing financial conservatism, strong balance sheet and operational effectiveness, was always towards the top of our survivors' list for the post-lockdown domestic retail world."
Shares surged 17% to 149.5p on Tuesday in early trades.
