Ted Baker promotes interim chief financial officer to permanent role

David Wolffe joined the fashion designer in January to temporarily replace Rachel Osborne, who was promoted to CEO in September

Ted Baker PLC (LON:TED) has said its interim chief financial officer David Wolffe is to take up the position on a permanent basis.

Wolffe joined the fashion designer in January to temporarily replace Rachel Osborne, who was promoted to be the firm's CEO in September after Lindsay Page resigned.

The management reshuffle was in the wake of a catastrophic profit warning following the discovery of a £58mln accounting blackhole at the firm.

The company noted Wolffe was “instrumental” to a number of financial initiatives, including the agreed sale and leaseback of the head office, the so-called Ugly Brown Building, during the coronavirus crisis.

He previously held similar roles at music and film retailer HMV Group, ITV Studios, internet services provider AOL Europe and BBC Magazines and Consumer Publishing.

Ted Baker shares jumped 8% to 127.82 on Monday morning.
