European experience "of significant value”
Managing director and CEO Ryan Parkin said: “We welcome Jonathan to Infinity and his extensive European experience will be of significant value as the company moves forward with a sole focus on the San José Lithium Project in Spain.
“The evolving composition of the board and management is aligned to the company’s engagement with EU institutions and Jonathan’s appointment will complement the board’s existing mix of skills and experience.”
Whyte’s appointment follows the resignation of Robert Orr as company secretary.
The board has thanked Orr for his professionalism and “significant” contributions to the company over the past 10 years and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
Placement to raise $930,000
Infinity is encouraged by the strong response received to a placement from sophisticated investors with commitments received to raise approximately A$930,000.
This capital raising is aligned with the recent strategic investment opportunity by EU-based InnoEnergy both of which will allow the company to advance its integrated European lithium supply strategy.
The strategy centred on the company’s San José Lithium Project in western Spain is seeking to assist in the development of a self-contained battery industry in Europe.
