Benchmark Holdings PLC (LON:BMK), the aquaculture genetics, health and nutrition business, has announced that Alex Raeber is stepping down as its chief scientific officer.
In a statement, the firm said Raeber will cease to be a director of the company with effect from July 31, 2020. It added that he hs decided that as the company is moving from a research & development investment phase into commercial execution, the time is right to move on to pastures new.

The group also said that Philippe Léger has decided to retire from his current position in Benchmark from July 1. Léger led the group’s Advanced Nutrition division until he turned 65 in July of last year and stayed on to lead the executive team, supporting the chairman Peter George, when Benchmark’s previous chief executive officer (CEO), Malcolm Pye, quit in December of last year. With a new CEO, Trond Williksen joining the company in June, Léger has elected to pursue new projects, the group added.
