Kromek receives Queen's Award for International Trade

Overseas sales jumped 52% in the three years to 30 April and make up 84% of group sales as the company ships to over 40 countries

Kromek Group PLC (LON:KMK) rose on Tuesday after announcing it has received a Queen's Award for Enterprise for its contribution to international trade.

The supplier of radiation detectors said it was recognised for its “outstanding” growth in overseas sales, up 52% in the three years to April 30, 2019.

International sales make up 84% of group sales as the company ships to over 40 countries in Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia.

The AIM-listed firm noted that the Queen's Awards are “the most prestigious awards for UK business”, highlighting achievements in the fields of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity.

“It is an honour to receive this prestigious award following a period of significant international growth for Kromek,” chief executive Arnab Basu said in a statement.

“We have secured contracts worth millions of pounds through our deepened relationships with governments and companies worldwide.”

Shares rose 4% to 19.71p on Tuesday at the opening bell.
