Emerald Clinics substantial shareholder Craig Darby increases stake to 11.87%

The company believes there is potential to extend its real-world evidence (RWE) platform to support the growing need to monitor COVID-19 patients.

Emerald Clinics Ltd (ASX:EMD) shareholder Craig Darby has increased his stake in the company to 11.87% from 10.66%.

The increase came after Darby purchased a total of 2.225 million shares in the company on March 10 and 23 worth $19,912 and $80,000 respectively.

He now holds a total of 21.82 million shares in the company.

Shares today have been up almost 16% to 8 cents.

Plans to extend real-world evidence platform

The company has confirmed that business is stable despite the restrictions being enforced across Australia due to COVID-19, with the patient count continuing to grow, referrals remaining steady and around 80% of recent appointments completed via telehealth.

Emerald plans to extend its real-world evidence (RWE) platform, which it believes could support the growing need to monitor COVID-19 patients and those self-isolating.

Managing director and chief executive officer Dr Michael Winlo said: “Our team has been working quickly to extend our RWE platform so we can help address the COVID-19 pandemic for Australian patients and citizens.

“Emerald has unique resources such as a team of research-focused clinicians, a RWE platform and a Telehealth service that can respond to the circumstances.

“We look forward to exploring this further with several interested parties.”
