Lithoquest Diamonds Inc (CVE:LDI) said Tuesday that it has appointed seasoned finance professional Michael Sweatman as an independent director and he will serve as chairman of the Compensation Committee.
The newly appointed director will also be a member of the Audit Committee.
"Lithoquest is pleased to welcome Mr Sweatman to its Board of Directors," said Lithoquest Diamonds CEO Bruce Counts.

"Michael's broad industry knowledge, and board experience will help to ensure that shareholders continue to be represented by a qualified and well-rounded board," he added.
Sweatman has over three decades of experience as a chartered professional accountant and has advised companies listed on both the Toronto Stock Exchange, as well the Canadian venture capital marketplace for emerging companies. He was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in 1982, and in the Yukon in 1990. He was the principal of Michael Sweatman Limited from 1999 to 2015.
In 1992, Sweatman started running Vancouver-based MDS Management Ltd, a management consulting and investment company. Additionally, he has served as a director and officer of a number of public companies.
Separately, Angela Austman stepped down from the board for personal reasons, and Lithoquest Diamonds thanked her for her contributions to the company during its first two years of operation.
Lithoquest is a Canadian resource exploration company focused on the discovery and development of economic mineral deposits in Western Australia.
