About the company
planarTECH aims to enable graphene, 2D, and other nanomaterials applications development by providing researchers worldwide with high quality material, economical process equipment (e.g. thermal CVD), and Raman and AFM systems for materials synthesis and analysis.
With a global network of researchers at leading institutions in Asia, the US and Europe, planarTECH has assembled the process know how to assist its customers in starting 2D material applications development as quickly as possible.
How it is doing
PlanarTECH (Holdings) Ltd said it has received or delivered orders for 150,000 graphene-enhanced facemasks since it started sales in April.
The graphene specialist said orders had come from and been delivered to UK and international universities alongside strong Middle East interest, online inquiries, and from B2B customers.
Large distribution deals are now being pursued, it added, while the washing capability of its masks has been upgraded by a factor of 50 times.
In tests carried out by the Thailand Textile Institute, washing the facemasks at least 10 times saw no deterioration in antibacterial performance, planarTECH said.
PlanarTECH (Holding) Limited has extended its marketing and distribution agreement with Thailand-based IDEATI to include 2AM-branded graphene-enhanced antibacterial face masks.
The 2AM antibacterial face mask uses both the antistatic and known antibacterial characteristics of graphene to create a cotton fabric face mask with exceptional properties, it said.
Graphene is starting to emerge as valuable industrial aid according to planarTECH (Holding) Limited chief executive J Patrick Franz
PlanarTECH specialises in adapting the ‘wonder-material’ graphene into industrial and commercial applications and says that the number of real products using the one atom thick material is growing rapidly.
What management says
planarTECH's Ray Gibbs says sales of its graphene face masks have been very good and they've been 'snowed-under' with orders and commitments for over 150,000 masks. He says they've just sold a significant number to two UK universities and will be delivering the first big batch next Friday.
