De La Rue “progressing” with turnaround plan

The firm did not provide much detail on safety measures for coronavirus

De La Rue PLC (LON:DLAR) rose on Tuesday after announcing it is “progressing” with its turnaround plan.

The firm added it “actively taking steps to protect its employees” following governmental guidelines on the coronavirus outbreak.

The banknote printer did not provide further details on measures to prevent the pandemic and said it is too early to quantify the impact on the current financial year.

For the year ended 27 March, adjusted operating profit is expected to be £20-25mln as previously guided, while net debt is estimated to be £105mln, down from £170mln recorded in September.

The company, which until recently was responsible for making UK passports, added it has a £275mln revolving credit facility expiring in December 2021.

Shares jumped 11% to 59.6p on Tuesday morning.
