Morning Report: Easyjet grounds entire fleet of aircraft; Loganair asks for financial help

Easyjet has grounded its entire fleet of aircraft due to the lockdowns caused by the coronavirus outbreak. Its last rescue flight landed yesterday.

Another regional carrier, Loganair, has asked the government for financial help to survive the crisis. Virgin Atlantic is also expected to ask for a bailout this week.

Astrazeneca has ended a trial for a treatment for patients with chronic kidney disease early because it was so successful. Farixga delivered an overwhelming benefit in those with type-2 diabetics and non-diabetics said the independent monitors.

Bidstack (LON:BIDS) says interest in its in-game advertising technology has rocketed with the restrictions on peoples’ movements. Game playing has surged and Bidstack is seeing high demand from ad agencies and elsewhere.

Ergomed (LON:ERGO) is to provide drug safety services through its PrimeVigilance arm for an ongoing US clinical trial to assess the effect of a rheumatoid arthritis treatment on patients with severe COVID-19 infection. The rapid initiation of clinical trials and establishment of appropriate safety monitoring will be critical to providing new treatments.

Union Jack Oil (LON:UJO) says economic modelling of the Biscathorpe project in Lincolnshire indicates a value of £55.6mln and that it will be commercial at an oil price over US$18 a barrel. Union Jack has a 27.5% stake.
