Walmart Inc’s (NYSE:WMT) Asda and Lidl are looking to hire temporary staff who have been laid off elsewhere, Reuters reported.
The two grocers will take on board 5,000 and 2,500 workers respectively to help out during the crisis.
Asda is reportedly discussing with 20 UK companies in industries such as food services and travel.

Britain’s grocers have been faced with unprecedented demand as consumers stockpile ahead of self-isolation.
Shares in Walmart were flat at US$119.20 on Friday at the opening bell.
