Tritax Big Box “confident” in divi growth despite coronavirus disruption

The annual payout will be 2% higher than 2019 at 7p

Tritax Big Box REIT PLC (LON:BBOX) said it is “impossible to know” how the coronavirus outbreak will hit business though its portfolio is occupied by a diversified customer base on long-term leases.

The warehouse investor said it is “confident” in delivering growing dividends and set the target at 7p per share for 2020.

In the year to 31 December, the net asset value (NAV) per share dipped 1% to 151.06p, while portfolio value jumped 15% to £3.9bn.

The reduction in NAV was due to an increase in the number of shares as a result of the equity raise and acquisition of Tritax Symmetry, analysts at Peel Hunt said.

“ We expect developments to be the main driver of earnings and NAV growth in the future and pre-lets are an essential part of this,” they added.

The dividend was increased by 2% to 6.85p per share.

Shares slipped 19% to 80.5p on Tuesday morning.
