Symphony Environmental Technologies PLC (LON:SYM) has started tests to determine whether its anti-microbial d2p technology can also be effective against viruses such as Covid-19.
Tests will be run on the coronavirus as soon as a specimen becomes available, Symphony added, though until the tests have been completed and verified there can be no guarantee that d2p technology will be an effective barrier to the Covid-19 virus.
Last month, Symphony received approval for its d2p antimicrobial food packaging from the US Food and Drug Administration.
Symphony's anti-fungal and anti-bacterial additives are already added to toothbrushes, overalls, facemasks and gloves, with NSF approval for water pipes.
