Van den Elsen has had extensive experience in South America and currently holds the position of managing director of CMN mining, a privately held exploration and development company advancing a coal project in Columbia.
Prior to joining CMN Mining, van den Elsen held executive positions with MHM Metals and Hampshire Mining and was an associate director with UBS.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Arts (Spanish) and a Graduate Diploma in Environment, Energy and Resources Law and is currently studying towards a Graduate Diploma in Mineral Exploration Geoscience and a Master of Science (Mineral Economics).
Meanwhile, John Lynch has resigned from his position as non-executive director of the company to concentrate on his other business interests.
The board has thanked Lynch for his contribution over the years with Oakdale.
Appointment of new company secretary
These changes follows the recent appointment of Yugi Gouw as company secretary on March 3 after the resignation of Hemant Amin.
Gouw has a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University, is a certified practising accountant and has a graduate diploma of Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia.
Over the last 10 years, he has worked with ASX companies as both company secretary and chief financial officer.
