Anson Resources shares up as it produces battery-grade product

Anson’s consultant Veolia Water Technologies has successfully produced lithium hydroxide monohydrate, which will now be sent to potential customers.

Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has successfully produced battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate using brine from its Paradox Brine Project in the US State of Utah.

The lithium hydroxide monohydrate is in crystal form with a composite sample grade of 56.2% LiOH.

Data from this test work will be used to design a commercial-scale plant.

The plant will be capable of producing both battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate and lithium carbonate from lithium hydroxide solution.

Importantly, the sample product from this test work has been sent to potential off-take partners and end-users for their consideration.

Marks completion of lithium test work program

The completion of this test work by Veolia also marks the completion of the lithium test work development program.

Over the past twelve months, Anson has successfully advanced from the production of small laboratory samples to the production of bulk samples of lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide monohydrate.

A unique production flow diagram (PFD) has been developed which provides the capability to produce both lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide from a common eluate.

This provides flexibility to respond to changing market demands.

Bromine to also be extracted from brine

Anson has also conducted test work for the extraction of bromine from the Paradox brines up to pilot plant scale.

The company plans to use the revenue from the bromine production to finance the development of the lithium production plant.

Data from this lithium test work development program will feed into the pre-feasibility level study underway.
