Morning Report: BATM develops new diagnostic kit to detect coronavirus

Medical device maker BATM (LON:BVC) says its bio-medical division has successfully developed a new diagnostics kit to detect coronavirus. The kit's also undergone testing by several central labs and hospitals that have now verified its ability to diagnose the virus.

Bahamas Petroleum (LON:BPC) has received environmental approval to drill its Perseverance 1 well. The well is expected to spud in April and will target recoverable prospective resources of up to 1.4 billion barrels of oil.

ANGLE’s (LON:AGL) liquid biopsy Parsortix has received more peer review validation. A Milan-based cancer institute assessed its performance in a form of kidney cancer and said it greatly out-performed the alternative approach.

Aston Martin (LON:AML) is to raise £317mln through a placing and rights issue at £4 a share -  a small premium - with the consortium led by F1 billionaire Lawrence Stroll to pump in £182mln. The luxury car maker lost more than £104mln in 2019 as revenues slumped by 9%.

Persimmon (LON:PSN) has started the search for a new chief executive after David Jenkinson announced he would step down in due course. Jenkinson has been at the helm of the heavily criticised builder for a little over a year.
