Tempus Resources' water permit clears path for Rio Zarza drilling in Ecuador

The Zamora Projects provide high-quality early-stage gold exploration prospects in Ecuador and are within a 1,000-hectare combined concession package adjacent to the Fruta del Norte Gold Project.

Tempus Resources Ltd (ASX:TMR) has received the much-anticipated water permit for its Rio Zarza concession, the most advanced of the company’s Zamora Projects in southern Ecuador.

This permit allows Tempus to use water for advanced exploration, including drilling.

It enables the company to implement a drilling program at Rio Zarza, which is adjacent to the world-class Fruta del Norte gold mine that has recently started production for Lundin Gold Inc (TSE:LUG).

Managing director Brendan Borg said: “We are pleased to have successfully navigated the permitting process for Rio Zarza, which allows us to get on with implementing our much anticipated and exciting drilling program in a highly prospective part of Ecuador.”

Drilling to begin in Q2

Results and data products from the recently completed detailed geochemical and airborne geophysical surveys are expected in coming weeks and will be used by the project team to prioritise and refine drill-hole specifications for the upcoming drilling program.

Tempus is evaluating tenders submitted for the upcoming drilling program with the program scheduled to begin in the June quarter of 2020.
