Hi-tech weapons and defence group QinetiQ Group PLC (LON:QQ.) has strengthened its training and simulation arm with the acquisition of consultant Newman & Spurr (NSC) for £14mln.
NSC, which specialises in models, land-based training areas and synthetic environments, made underlying profits of £1.3mln on sales of £5.9mln in the year to July.
Qinetiq's own trading has continued on track in the second half of the year with revenues growing in high single digits and operating profit higher in line with previous statements.
On December, the UK group acquired MTEQ, which makes advanced sensors for soldiers as part of plans to boost its US presence.
