Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has discovered a 3.8-kilometre-long gold-in-soil anomaly at its Whiteheads Gold Project in Western Australia.
The 10 to 50 ppb gold anomaly was identified through an auger drilling program on a 200x50-metre grid in the area.
Great Boulder will now complete infill sampling auger drilling on a 50x100-metre grid before testing with aircore drilling.
Great Boulder’s managing director Andrew Paterson said: “We are rapidly developing a pipeline of highly promising drilling targets at Whiteheads.
“The Arsenal trend is the first area we’ve looked at outside of the Whiteheads corridor and we have already outlined a 3.8-kilometre-long target.
“We’re now sampling some infill lines, after which we’ll look at continuing further south below the Proterozoic dyke.
“Once infill auger sampling is completed, priority areas will be tested with aircore drilling as a fast and cost-effective first-pass technique. We will then test advanced targets at depth with RC drilling.”
Discovery adds to evidence of Whitehead’s potential
The large anomaly provides more evidence of the potential the Whiteheads Project has to host economic gold deposits in an underexplored area close to the mining centre of Kalgoorlie.
Drilling at the Lady Betty prospect late last year extended a high-grade shoot by a further 65 metres with results such as 1-metre at 7.51 g/t gold from 112 metres.
At the Seven Leaders prospect, seven holes were drilled to test strike extensions and continuity with results including 16 metres at 1.13 g/t gold from 58 metres.
