Alien Metals Limited (LON:UFO), the minerals exploration and development company said an induced polarisation survey is to commence soon at its Donovan 2 copper-gold project following a recently carried out a site visit to Mexico.
The group said its technical team has decided that the next stage of work will be the ground-based survey designed to aid in defining coherent drilling targets.
Discussions are already underway with drilling companies to carry out follow up work, Bill Brodie Good, Alien’s technical director said in a statement.
A couple of copper and sulphide bearing float samples were located during the site visit sourced from a hand-dug water well located right over the ground magnetic anomaly defined from work performed by the company in 2019. Alien Metals believes these float samples were from the well.
"Additionally, surface float samples have showed from visible inspection on-site excellent sulphide and copper content which further supports Donovan 2 as a highly prospective target,” Brodie Good said.
Further development potential
While in Mexico, Brodie Good also cast his eye over Alien’s other Mexican assets, and meetings were also held with potential joint venture partners in the country.
Alien said the visit also confirmed the exploration and development potential of the Los Campos and San Celso silver exploration projects.
Plans for detailed exploration drilling programmes at Los Campos and San Celso have now been finalised, Alien Metals confirmed.
"I had an excellent trip to Mexico where I not only gained a better understanding of the company's projects, but also of the exploration and mining mentality, and capacity, of the Zacatecas region,” Brodie Good concluded.
Shares in Alien metals were up 7.7% at 0.21p in early deals.
