Elementos Ltd (ASX:ELT) has strengthened its board with operational and financial experience through the appointment of experienced mining executive Brett Smith as a non-executive director.
Smith has more than 30 years’ experience in the resources, construction and engineering industries in senior operational and financial positions.
He is executive director of Hong Kong-listed Dragon Mining Ltd (HKG:1712), which has operating gold mines and processing plants in Finland and Sweden.
Successful track record
Chairman Andy Greig said, “Elementos is entering an exciting new development phase and Mr Smith’s appointment provides additional experience and expertise in mine development and financing and importantly in the European Union.
“Mr Smith has established a successful track record of navigating companies through these growth phases and into profitable production”.
Transitioning to financing phase
The appointment is part of a broader strategy to bring new experience and expertise to the board and management team as it transitions into the development and financing phase at the Orpresa Tin Project in Spain.
Smith's other current roles include deputy chairman of Hong Kong-listed resources investment company APAC Resources Limited (HKG:1104) and non-executive director of ASX-listed companies Tanami Gold NL (ASX:TAM), Prodigy Gold NL (ASX:PRX) and Metals X Limited (ASX:MLX).
Smith’s qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Hons), a master’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Research Methodology.
