Premier African Minerals Limited (LON:PREM) has had its RHA Tungsten mine in Zimbabwe connected to the national grid with sufficient power to start processing tailings at the site.
The junior holds a 49% interest in RHA and is the operator.
George Roach, chief executive, said: “As of now, adequate power is available from the national grid to consider the resumption of plant operations at the end of January 2020 to reprocess historic tailings.
Through an arrangement with associate MN Holding, the capital plant needed to feed the tailings at RHA is potentially available at net operating cost only, Roach said.
Processing the tailings means only a part of the plant has to be used, which reduces operating costs, Roach added.
