Travis Perkins appoints chairman for Wickes ahead of demerger

The FTSE 250 group said it is making “good progress” in completing the board of Wickes as it is about to list as its own independent company

Travis Perkins PLC (LON:TPK) has appointed Christopher Rogers as chairman designate of its chain of Wickes do-it-yourself stores.

He is the only member of the board announced so far, coming from his role as non-executive director at the FTSE 250 group which he joined in 2013.

Rogers held senior roles at Whitbread plc (LON:WTB) for 11 years, serving as group finance director from 2005 to 2012 and managing director of Costa Coffee from 2012 to 2016.

He was previously at Woolworth Group, Comet Group and Kingfisher plc (LON:KGF).

Travis Perkins said Wickes is on track to demerge in the second quarter and is making “good progress” in appointing the remainder the board.
