Itaconix (LON:ITX) (OTCMKTS:ITXXF) revealed Tuesday that the US Patent and Trademark Office has formally issued a new patent to the company for the composition of detergents containing Itaconix's novel bio-based polymers.
In a statement, the leading innovator in sustainable specialty polymers said the new patent provides it with an additional layer of intellectual property protection for the unique value of Itaconix polymers in non-phosphate automatic dishwashing detergents.
In addition, it continued, the new patent extends the company's proprietary position in key detergent compositions to 2037.
John Shaw, Itaconix’s CEO said: "This patent is an important piece to our development and launch of a new generation of automatic dishwashing detergents in North America and Europe with uncompromising performance, lower costs, and increased sustainability."
The company said it had delivered the first order of ZINADOR 35L, which is a more concentrated version of its proprietary polymeric complex, to the FTSE 100 listed chemicals company.
In October, Itaconix announced an expansion of an existing deal whereby Croda would pay US$60,000 to receive ZINDOR 35L, a water-soluble odour neutraliser, to the ZINADOR 22L product line order already agreed.
