Royal Road Minerals names co-founder Vernon Arseneau COO and executive director

Arseneau has more than year years experience as a geologist and co-founded Royal Road in 2010

Royal Road Minerals Limited (CVE:RYR) (OTCMKTS:RRDMF) has tapped founding director Vernon Arseneau to serve as its new chief operations officer and executive director.

Arseneau, a geologist of 30 years, co-founded Royal Road back in 2010. He began his career working on gold and base metals exploration in Quebec, where he played a crucial role in the development of the 1.5 million-ounce Beauchemin gold mine, and he went on to spend more than 20 years serving in senior positions in Canada and South America, with the mining company Noranda Inc.

Arseneau was named Noranda’s General Manager in Peru in 1977, and he helped acquired and develop the Antamina copper-zinc skarn deposit. He also managed the El Pachon copper porphyry project in Argentina.

He went on to serve as vice president of exploration for Zincore Metals Inc in 2006.

"It is our great privilege to have Vern, a co-founder of Royal Road, actively involved and directing exploration operations at the company,” Chairman Peter Mullens said in a statement. “Vern is well-known and respected by the Royal Road team and he has the necessary depth of experience and the strong social and environmental conscience the Company needs to maximize its chance of success."

Mullens is optimistic that 2020 will be a significant year for the Toronto-based company.

"We expect that 2020 will be a transformational year for Royal Road and its partners, with at-least three drilling projects planned in Colombia and Nicaragua, grass roots exploration underway and royalty-earning formalization programs to be managed and advanced,” Mullens said.
