Anson Resources confirms it can extract bromine in stage two test work

The bromine samples produced from the stage two test work will be offered to potential investors, end users and offtake partners.

Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has completed stage two bromine extraction test work from brine samples taken from its flagship Paradox Brine Project in the US state of Utah.

The test work was conducted in a bromine pilot plant in Germany owned and overseen by De Dietrich Process Systems GmbH.

Elemental bromine was successfully produced validating the first stage test work conducted in laboratory scale equipment previously.

Results to feed into PEA

Equipment costing and operating assumptions have been estimated by De Dietrich and will be incorporated into the preliminary economic assessment (PEA) that Anson plans to commence in the March quarter 2020.

Analysis of the bromine sample is underway, following which Anson intends to offer the sample produced to potential investors, end-users and offtake partners for their consideration.

This follows the recent production of a lithium carbonate bulk sample from the Paradox Project brine, which will also be used for potential off-take parties and end users.

De Dietrich has extensive experience in bromine plants having designed, engineered and supplied equipment to 31 bromine projects throughout the world.

The recent extraction test work on brine samples from the Paradox Project is an important step to derisking a future mining operation.

By conducting test work on a smaller pilot scale to show that valuable commodities like lithium carbonate and bromine can be successfully extracted from the project’s brine, a commercial-scale plant can be designed.
